What to Pack
-
We advise day campers to bring a backpack with their gear for each day. Below, we have outlined the things to bring based on the timetable activities planned, but these may be subject to change based on weather conditions.
Every day wear:
The weather at Hazelbrook is unpredictable and it has even been known to snow! Please ensure your child has WARM clothing available to them. We cannot stress how important this is! While days can be warm, the nights get very chilly, so it important to ensure your child brings a jacket for the night time/evening activities.
We recommend children wear comfortable holiday clothing (ie. tracksuits, shorts, t-shirts, skivvies, socks, jeans, sloppy joes, jumpers, etc.) which can get messy, as we are a hands on, outdoor camp. We strongly advise you not send your children in good clothing to camp. We are not liable for any damage or stains your child’s clothing may incur when completing camp activities.
Sturdy enclosed shoes (please note, for safety reasons, thongs/crocs are not allowed to be worn for general activities)
Additional things to bring:
For study times (we recommend keeping these in an additional small bag like a library bag)
A bible
A pencil case with pens, pencils and/or textas
A jacket and raincoat/waterproof jacket
For daily showers:
A bath towel and soap, shampoo and conditioner, hair brush.
OPTIONAL:A change of clothes for after the shower.
A pair of thongs to shower in
Monday: Bushwalking activities.
Sturdy walking shoes required. We recommend bringing a second pair of shoes in case of muddy conditions on bush walkTuesday: Messy Games activities, glow worms bushwalk activity
(the date of these activities may be subject to change depending on weather conditions).
Messy Games: Bring your child to camp in old clothes that will get grubby. Bring a plastic bag to put messy clothes into once showered. Children will be required to wear enclosed shoes during messy games. Crocs or thongs will not be accepted.
A change of clothing, including shoes is REQUIRED for after messy games shower time.
Glow worms bushwalk: A torch, a second set of sturdy walking shoes (different to ones worn in morning for messy games), jacket/jumper.Wednesday: Legacy painting activity, gifts of service activity, and Dress up night
Legacy painting activity and gifts of service activity: Old clothes that may get non-water soluble paint on them. If you have a paint smock, we recommend bringing this along.

Our 2025 dressup theme is inspired by science! We look forward to seeing everyone dressed up as famous or mad scientists, crazy experiments, or anything else inspired by scientific study (that's right, you could dress up as a dinosaur, plant, or even a star galaxy!)

Sheets and pillowcase
Due to health regulations, even if you are using a sleeping bag, a sheet is required to cover the mattress/pillow. There is one pillow provided for each bed.Sleeping bag
There is no covering provided to campers, so campers MUST bring something to sleep under at night. Sleeping bags are preferred due to size for luggage transportation.OPTIONAL: Small toy to sleep with at night

Shoes: At least 2 pairs of sturdy enclosed shoes. We recommend bringing three pairs as one pair will likely get dirty after the messy games activity, and if your second pair gets wet and muddy on bushwalks, your child will still be required to wear them if they don’t have a third pair. (Please note, for safety reasons, thongs/crocs are not allowed to be worn for general activities.)
Warm PJS
Just to remind you, nights are SUPER COLD!!!!Bushwalking activities.
Sturdy walking shoes required (separate to ones worn for messy games), jacket/jumper and a torchMessy Games activities
pack old clothes that will get grubby and a plastic bag to put messy clothes into once showered. Children will be required to wear enclosed shoes during messy games and this means they will likely not be worn again for the rest of camp. This is why we recommend bringing a few pairs of enclosed shoes. For safety reasons, children cannot wear thongs or crocs during this activity.Legacy painting activity and gifts of service activity: old clothes that may get non-water soluble paint on them. If you have a paint smock, we recommend bringing this along also.
